Starfish Social Services is a not-for-profit organisation that has been serving Matamata-Piako for over 10 years, providing community based social services.

We are currently looking for expressions of interest for a Finance and HR Administrator, who is a quick learner, proactive and efficient, with great organisational and time management skills.

Your responsibilities will include payroll, processing, and management accounting assisting with end of year financial accounts.

The position also includes business operation functions such as HR, Health & Safety, and supporting the Office Manager.

This is a busy and diverse role in a small supportive team.

To be successful, you will need the following requirements :

• Proficient in Xero, Microsoft 365 applications especially Excel, and a payroll software eg payhero
• Solid accounting knowledge - a minimum of 5 years’ experience
• Good computer and business/data analysis skills
• Highly organised, and the ability to juggle and prioritise with meticulous attention to detail
• Ability to work both autonomously and as part of a small team
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact with a diverse range of individuals
• Great attitude and willing to help out where needed
• Good grounding in people and safety management in areas such as recruitment, employment agreements, employment law and policy administration

Morrinsville Event - W.A.T.F.F 2019

Organised by the youth of Morrinsville with the support of Starfish and Te Ahurei a Rangatahi.

Matamata Event - BUSC breakfast event 2019

Building unity for safer communities hosted a community breakfast and entertainment, to coincide with the Matamata Christmas parade. Our aim was to raise awareness about family harm and the support available in the community. 

Matamata Event - Winter Solstice 2019

Created and run by the youth of Matamata with the help of community businesses and volunteers. We brought eat street to Matamata.
