On The Bright Side 2020

Matamata College Wellness Committee in collaboration with Starfish Social Services created this project during COVID19 lockdown. A competition based initiative to encourage our comminity to get creative, bake and send photos of their creations during level 4 lockdown.

Rotary’s support to Starfish Social Services meant that our childcare programmes could gain more transporting means for our rangatahi. 

 

Morrinsville Event - W.A.T.F.F 2019

Organised by the youth of Morrinsville with the support of Starfish and Te Ahurei a Rangatahi.

Matamata Event - BUSC breakfast event 2019

Building unity for safer communities hosted a community breakfast and entertainment, to coincide with the Matamata Christmas parade. Our aim was to raise awareness about family harm and the supports available in the community. 

Matamata Event - Winter Solstice 2019

Created and run by the youth of Matamata with the help of community businesses and volunteers. We brought eat street to Matamata.

Starfish are looking to form a group of mentors to provide support across the Matamata/Piako region and are currently taking expressions of interest.

Training will be provided; with paid mentor positions available as required.
